Easy Elegant Card Making using dies from Spellbinders.  Today I’m sharing how you can easily create this beautiful card, layer by layer using the Spellbinders Anabelle’s Trousseau and the Spellbinders Braided Grace Square die-sets.

I know one can sometimes be a little bit intimidated by cards like these; but believe me these are very easy to make…. and it’s all about how you layer them 😉

The Supplies You’ll Need

The First Layers

The following measurements are in inches.

You’ll begin with a 9 by 6 3/4 piece of card stock.  Lay it down horizontally on your scoring board and score at 4 1/2, then fold.  This is your card base.

Next you will trim a piece of Gold card stock to 4 by 6 1/2, and with your scor-tape you tape this down on the inside of your card.  Then cut a piece of card stock to 3 1/2 by 6 1/4 and (with your double sided tape) adhere it to the top of the gold piece.

We do this on the inside of our card to prepare it for the weight that will go on the front of our card.  This way when you stand the card on a desk, it doesn’t fall over.

You then cut your designer paper down to 6 9/16 by 4 5/16.  Use your double-sided tape to adhere it to the top of your card base.

Use your gold card stock to die cut the frame of your Spellbinders Anabelle’s Trousseau die-set, and the inlaid braid of your Spellbinders Braided Grace Square die-set.

Next you’ll die-cut a piece of designer paper using the insert from your Anabelle’s Trousseau die-set. You’ll wind up with two die-cut pieces. Glue the outer edge (the one with the holes) on the gold frame, and set the other piece aside.

Once you have these two pieces of paper glued together, you may use satin ribbon to thread through the opening on the sides. Adhere this satin ribbon with your Scor-tape.

The next step is to adhere this frame on top of your card.  You may use mounting squares or fun foam for this. This will be your first dimensional layer.

Now you’re ready to embellish this layer with your trims and flat-back pearls.

The Second Layers

Your next layer will include the second die-cut piece (the one you put aside) from the Anabelle’s Trousseau die-set, and the gold die-cut piece from your Braided Grace Square die-set.  In my video I explained that I used my scissors to trim around this die-cut piece.

You use your double-sided tape to stick these two pieces together; and with your fun foam or your mounting squares, you apply it on top of your dimensional layer.  You now have layer two.

Finishing Your Card

To top your card off, you may apply a rosette from your trim collection, make your own flower, or attach a pre-made one that you purchased from the hobby store.  In my case I added a flower from my stash and a piece of bling to top it off.  Both where adhered with the hot glue gun.
