Pop Up Card Tutorial feat. Graphic 45 Botanical Tea

Hello G45’rs! In Today’s tutorial we’re going to make this beautiful Graphic 45 Pop up Card. I’ll be using the papers, stickers and chipboard pieces from the Botanical Tea Collection.

Supplies

You can use your favorite Graphic 45 collection for this pop-up card. I chose to use the Botanical Tea because it has a ton of flowers for fussy-cutting!

Measurements and Scoring

The first thing that I do in my project is the pop-up feature. You will trim and score your card stock at the following:

4 pieces cut at 3×5 1/2 inches
place horizontally on scoring board and score them at 3 inches

place vertically on scoring board and score them at 1/2 inch
Your pieces will now have a 3 inch dimension at the bottom and 2 1/2 inch dimension at the top. (Which are now separated by the 3 inch score mark). You will trim off the top dimension at the 1/2 inch mark until it meets that horizontal score mark (3 inches).

Fold along your score lines, then take two of the four pieces that you initially trimmed at 3×5 1/2 inches and cut off the top portion, right along that 3 inch score mark.

You’ll then trim 3 pieces of card stock at 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches

Then you’ll score the three pieces at a half an inch on both ends and fold in the same direction.

The Card Base

Trim a piece of card stock to 12 x 6
Place it horizontally on your scoring board and score at 5 1/2, then 6 1/2

Take papers from the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Collection and cut four pieces at 5 3/8 x 5 7/8 inches and two pieces at 7/8 x 5 7/8 inches.

I’ve put together this video tutorial so that you can view and follow along the entire process.

Tip: Work on the parts that take the longest first. This way your pop up card project will go by a lot smoother and seemingly faster. Off camera I took care of all of my fussy-cutting. I’m glad I did!
