In today’s tutorial, I’m sharing how you can turn your Graphic 45 Matchbook Box into something that is fit for a queen!
We’ll be using theGraphic 45 Princess Collection along with flowers, metals, chipboard, laces and bling!
You’ll find a full supply list in the area below the video.
The Tutorial
We begin with a Graphic 45 Deep Rectangle Matchbook Box in Ivory. The box measures 8 1/2 by 6 1/2 and is 3 1/4 inches deep. So it’s large enough to hold a set of cards or a mini album.
We use an acetate sheet to cover up the window on the top of our box. You may use double-sided tape to adhere this sheet.
Cut 4 strips of paper from your graphic 45 Princess Collection. You’ll cut 2 large pieces and 2 small pieces.
Use the Clearsnap Decades Dye Ink Pad in Dark Cashmere to ink around the edges of both the strips and around the box.
Now we’re ready to glue the strips to the top of our Graphic 45 box. We’re going to miter the corners of our strips. It’s an easy process that gives you excellent results!
When applying glue to your strip (or box like in the picture above), stay clear from the ends. You’ll want to leave about an inch and a half of space at the ends.
We then lift the ends together and cut through the strips at a diagonal. Once you have done this to all four corners, you glue the ends down to your altered box.
We are now ready to trim our side pieces. Trim 2 pieces at 8 3/8 x 3 1/8 inches and 2 pieces at 6 1/8 x 2 7/8 inches. I decided to go with coordinating pieces for this part.
Don’t forget to ink around the edges of these strips as well.
Next you adhere these side strips to the box. You may use crafting glue or double-sided tape for this part.
Once all four side strips are glued down, you are ready to decorate your Graphic 45 Matchbook Box!
Have fun with this part. Use your trims, your bling, your Graphic 45 Rose Bouquetflowers, your Graphic 45 Keys, etc.
