Mini Journal Tutorial | Becca Feeken Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Booklet Die Set

Mini Journal Tutorial – This elegant Mini Journal was created using the Spellbinders Filigree Booklet Die Set.  It’s easy to create your very own mini journal using your Spellbinders Vintage Elegance Filigree Booklet dies.  All you have to do is follow the die templates. To create the cover for this mini journal, use the largest of the two rectangular dies (the one without the middle bar).

For the pages of your mini journal, use the die with the middle bar. You will notice that this die template already has the holes that you need to thread in your binding. Since I am creating a mini journal, I decided to cut five pages.

To add elegance to the cover of the mini journal, I use gold-foil card stock to die cut the elegant filigree cover designs.  To do this I lay down the die with the middle bar on the paper, then I include one filigree rectangular die on one side, and the other filigree die on the other side. To ensure that these dies don’t move I use washi tape to adhere them to the card stock temporarily.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a pro when it comes to ruining gold-foiled card stock! Once the die-cuts where made, what I decided to do was to cut the pieces in two. I lined each piece up so that the holes where cut off the frame. (watch my YouTube video tutorial, it will make more sense).

I then aligned one of the inner pages to the cover, penciled in the holes, and used my Spellbinders Tool n’ One to puncture the binder holes to the cover.  All that is left to do is to thread your twine through the holes, tighten your binding and tie a knot. Yes! It was that simple!
