2023 Do’s and Don’ts for Paper Craft Design Teams
Hi crafty peeps! I thought that I would start the year by sharing some tips as both a craft business owner, and as someone who has been on several design teams through the years. Pretty soon many stores and craft companies will be posting for new design team spots and I thought that this would help as you go forth in 2023. Enjoy!
DO:
- Communicate effectively with team members: It’s important to keep lines of communication open and make sure everyone is on the same page. This can be done through regular meetings, email, or chat.
- Set clear goals and deadlines: Make sure everyone knows what is expected of them and when things are due. This will help keep the team organized and ensure that projects are completed on time.
- Celebrate successes: It’s important to recognize and celebrate the hard work of team members. This can help boost morale and encourage everyone to continue giving their best effort.
- Encourage creativity: Paper craft is all about being creative, so make sure to encourage team members to come up with new and innovative ideas.
DON’T:
- Be too critical: While it’s important to have high standards, it’s also important to be supportive and constructive when giving feedback. Avoid being overly critical or negative.
- Ignore team members’ ideas: Everyone’s input is valuable, so make sure to listen to and consider all ideas, even if they may not fit with the current project.
- Overwhelm team members: It’s important to keep workloads manageable and avoid overwhelming team members with too much work.
- Neglect team dynamics: It’s important to create a positive and supportive team environment. Make sure to address any conflicts or issues as they arise and encourage open and honest communication.
