Hi friends! Today I bring you this Graphic 45 Communique Mini Album that I made using one of my Tim Holtz small folios!
This mini album conversion was actually a request from one of our crafting buddies, Brian Dickey. Hi Brian! I love making mini albums and converting folios into mini albums is no exception!
I’ve been in the mood to make something a bit on the vintage side. So I decided to alter this folio and use my Graphic 45 Communique paper collection along with this drapery trim (yup! It’s drapery trim!) that I found at Hobby Lobby. I just love the combination of these items. It sort of reminds me of the old Clint Eastwood western movies. (You know the ones with the “fancy ladies” in their “fancy rooms”. LOL) But I digress!
Graphic 45 Communique Mini Album Walk-through Video
In this video I walk you through my process of how I attached the pages to make this mini album; and offer a tip on how I can easily get a good fit each and every time. Granted, this tip works only if you want to make the same pocket page every time. I don’t mind making uniform pages at all. It’s a quick and easy way to make a mini album if you’re looking for instant gratification.
The Gallery
For those of you who have used these folios in the past, you’ll notice that I re-routed the closing mechanism. You see this in the video. In the front I added one of the Graphic 45 Antique Brass Ornate Metal Keyholes, along with one of their Door Knobs. This allows me to wrap the elastic closure to it and keep my mini album closed when not in use.
As you can see here, I kept the pages fairly simple. Just a bit of decor to the top and sides, leaving plenty of room for family pictures. Next to the front page I added a Graphic 45 Policy Envelope for storing notes and added a chipboard piece on top. You’ll also notice my use of the Graphic 45 washi to decorate the sides of the pages. I think the washi adds to the vintage look I was going after. And for the back of my mini album, I decided to make a simple waterfall to hold more pictures.
