Card Walk Through
- Begin with a 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 white card base.
- Unfold your card and tape down an edge from your Heartfelt Creations Regal Borders die at the very edge of your card base, then run it through your die-cutting machine.
- From your Heartfelt Creations paper, trim two pieces at 5 3/4 x 4 1/8. These pieces will go on the inside and backside of your greeting card.
- Trim a piece to 3 3/4 x 5 7/8. This is for the shaped inside part that you see above and glue down. Use a coordinating border die on this piece.
- Trim one piece to 5 3/4 x 3 5/8. This piece should match the rectangle piece of the inside of your card.
- Trim a contrasting piece (I used pink. See the front of my card.) to 5 3/4 x 3 7/8.
- Use the coordinating border die to die-cut an edge of these two pieces. Then glue one piece right over the other. And then glue this piece down on the front of your card.
Congratulations! You’ve built your edge border card! Now you’re ready for some decorating!
- Using your Heartfelt Creations die-sets, you’ll cut, ink and glue your flowers, cut and ink your leaves, and cut ten fan pieces (Heartfelt Creations Arianna Lace Die-set). Five pieces were cut from some scraps of the same Heartfelt Creations paper collection, and five were cut using plain white card stock. I also used plain white card stock to die-cut the flowers and used distressing ink to add color to them. For a little bit of shimmer, I brushed some Wink of Stella on my flowers and leaves.
- Notice the bottom die that I’m pointing to? After you die-cut the five white ones, you’ll snip off that circle piece so that it doesn’t show when you lay the (in my case) pink piece over it. Just use glue to adhere one piece over the other. A little bit on the top edge will do. I also like to have a little bit of an edge showing, so I moved up the pink piece about an eighth of an inch.
- Glue down your five fan pieces on top of your card. Finish this part off with some pretty, flat back pearls.
- Trim a border piece from your Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose collection and glue it to the bottom third of your card.
- Using your foam dots, you’ll embellish the side of your card with the die-cut leaves and flowers.
- Add a bit of glue to the tip of your white flourish and tuck it underneath a flower.
- Take a sentiment from the paper collection, use a corner punch to round of the corners. Adhere with foam squares and you’re done!
