Graphic 45 Love Notes Folio Tutorial Part 1

Hello G45rs! Today I’m sharing an easy and quick Graphic 45 Love Notes Folio Mini Album tutorial. This is a basic construction that uses two 8 1/2″ x 11″ pieces of heavy duty card stock, papers and chipboard from the Graphic 45 Love Notes collection.

This folio measures 6 1/2″ x 8 1/4″ and it’s a half inch deep. This folio mini album is part of a larger project that I’ll reveal in the days to come.

I begin by trimming two pieces of card stock at 8 1/4″, holding the paper vertically on my paper trimmer.

Next I score one piece at 5 1/2″ and 6″, and the other at 4 1/2″ and 5″. I then fold along the scored lines and use my bone folder to make crisp crease lines.

I apply one piece over the other with some wet glue, leaving a half an inch from the edge. I do this on my scoring board to help me square out these pieces. Plus I can clearly see the half inch from the edge of the first piece of card stock, when I use my scoring board.

Next I do a bit of eye measuring to trim my papers for this folio mini album.

I use the Color Box Graphic 45 Decades Ink to ink around the edges. The color that I use throughout this folio mini album is Photogenic.

Before I apply my last piece of paper, I make a closure using a chipboard piece from the Graphic 45 Love Notes Collection, a brad from my stash and a piece of double sided tape.

With a pen, I mark the spot where I’ll puncture a small hole through. Then I add the brad to the chipboard piece and feed it through the card stock.

From our scraps, we trim four pieces of strips that measure 8″ x 3/8 of an inch. We then apply these to the inside and outside of the spines to our Graphic 45 Folio Mini Album.

I’ve put together a quick and easy to follow video tutorial, where I show you how to construct a basic folio mini album. As I mentioned earlier, this folio is part of a larger project, which is why the depth is less than an inch. However, you may adjust your measurements to construct your folio an inch or two inches deep, if you so desire.
